During a mini holiday with friends to Koh Lipe in July, I decided to have various impromptu (mostly candid) “calendar” photo shoots. Kylie was my favorite to photograph. Extremely photogenic, beautiful (and doesn’t know it), and very easy to work with (mostly because she wasn’t even posing for me).

This older gentleman was selling merchandise on the foot path to the bamboo forest in Arashiyama. Where other vendors stand around trying to get your attention and hawk their wares, this fellow was perfectly content to sit and wait and allow customers to come of their own accord.

This little girl was just trotting down the street all by herself in the middle of Kyoto. Don’t know where she was going, but she was determined to get there in good time.
